Salsa is an enchanting and addictive form of Latin American music and dance, popular all over the world. It is the crowning legacy of music and dance traditions mixing in the cultural melting pots of Cuba, Puerto Rico and New York throughout the early and mid 20th century. Salsa has since established and consolidated it's position as the foremost style of Latin street dance enjoyed socially in countries far and wide. It is a fun, interactive and universally appealing expression of life. Salsa, it's awesome.
Do I have to bring a partner?
There's no requirement to bring a partner (but you are welcome to). Salsa is a social dance and we structure our classes for you to learn to dance with anyone.
What do I wear?
Wear something comfortable and that you can move in. Keep in mind that dancing is active and you should expect to sweat! Clothing that is breathable and that doesn't result in obvious sweat patches is always a good call.
What shoes do I wear?
There's no need to wear special dance shoes. As with your clothing, wear something comfortable that you can move in. Try to avoid shoes with excessive grip on the soles. Ladies, it's generally best to start out in flat shoes (rather then heels). If you wish to purchase dance shoes, have a chat to us in class. We can help advise you on type and brand including where you can buy them.
What if I have never danced before?
You don't have to have any dance experience, absolute beginners are welcome!
How do I pay?
We take payment in class by cash or EFTPOS.
How do I register?
Send us an email address with your full name and it's done! Otherwise, you're welcome to come along to class and register in person. Just arrive a little early so we can get your details and answer any questions you might have.
Do you love what you do?
Yes, Salsa is our passion and sharing it with others is always a pleasure!
